I took a couple days off to give my hands and brain a break from this riff before coming back to uni, but I'm back and ready to go again at it now. Nice, I like this approach. Internalising the rhythm for high speeds is hard without being able to think it and words seem to work well trying get that down. I like the Taplature diagram! To clarify on the quintuplets though, what I'm looking for is 5 evenly spaced notes - 12345 rather than a 123-12. I've seen Guthrie Govan use the word "te-le-mark-et-ing" for internalising quintuplets so I think that's what I'll go with. I'll try and get a new recording at 70bpm tonight with consistent foot tapping to see if taking a break has done me any good.
