Looks and sounds like it's making good sense! The quick way forward is to bring the pick pattern up to speed using only the first chord. We can then pair just the first 2 chords together, looping back and forth. Once that's all working nicely then adding the last 2 chords should be a breeze! Watch out for the thumb joint bending. The recommendation is to get the thumb moving from the joint where it meets the wrist. Some benchmarks on the breakdowns suggested above would be interesting to watch improving!

Pleased to hear it! What do you make of this famous lick (slightly simplified here) which uses the same pentatonic box shape but played at fret 2 rather than fret 5? It's from one of your favourite bands. 😎 Name that tune!

How about boiling all that down into a single beat to practise? Counting "ONE two three AND two three" gives us six possible places to play notes within a single beat (3 on the down foot and 3 on the up foot) which will get you thinking in sextuplets if you haven't done so before! The "oblique bend" lasts while you count "ONE two three" and each of the counts "AND two three" gets a note each. One beat, 2 foot movements, 6 counts!

A little bird tells me these are your speeds on the two lines (measured individually and then together): Record speed is 174bpm as notated here in 8th notes (or half that - 87bpm - in 16th notes) so we're looking to get you to 200bpm on all three of these measurements to give a generous comfort zone. The quickest way there should be to take each line up to speed individually before bringing the two line sequence up to the mark! The quick cure here is to run the pattern using the "Million Pound Challenge" approach. Notes, out loud count and foot tap together will make you do it right! Practise without any backing until it's easy then along with a slow metronome beat. Keep things to the speed where you are 100% sure everything's perfect and watch that speed rise day by day. So ... what speed are things perfect at?
